Based in Austin, TX, Bexar Bexar creates instrumental pieces using damaged analog electronics, acoustic guitars, and digital manipulation. With his sophomore release, Tropism, Bexar Bexar, trades the beats and rhythms of Haralambos for dense oceany drones and melancholy guitar melodies. Basé à Austin (Texas), Bexar Bexar crée des plages instrumentales à l’aide de synthétiseurs analogiques endommagés, de guitares acoustiques et de la manipulation de sons digitaux. Pour son deuxième album intitulé « Tropism », Bexar Bexar a troqué les boucles rythmiques de son premier opus « Haralambos » contre des drones océaniquement denses et des mélodies de guitares mélancoliques retravaillées avec sensibilité. Tropism révèle lentement sa richesse au fil des écoutes. Recommandé pour les fans de Fennesz, Labradford, Brian Eno, Bibio.

On the new record, titled “It Is Freezing Out,” Uzi & Ari seem to be aiming for a broader audience with shorter song structures and weightier compositions. The layers on these songs are reminiscent of Radiohead’s “Kid A,” and only begin to unfold after scores of listens.
  
Sur leur nouvel album « It is Freezing Out », Uzi & Ari semblent s’ouvrir à une audience plus large en écourtant leurs structures au profit d’un enrichissement de leurs compositions. After the release of two stellar EP's, GREGOR SAMSA delivers their much anticipated debut full length. 55:12 is an eight song journey submerged in dreamy, multi-layered atmospherics. The band blurs the lines of ambient and indie, from heavy and dark one moment to hushed and serene the next, all while angelic guy/girl vocals drift overhead. Mixed by Brian Paulson (Slint, Wilco, Beck).

Le groupe efface les frontière entre l’ambiant et l’indie en alternant moments lourds et sombres et d’autres plus calmes et sereins, le tout étant surmonté par le chant angélique du duo homme/femme formé par Champ Bennett et Nikki King. Their unconventional sound borrows from ill American landscapes, edge-city teenage hangouts, and overgrown, overlooked places. The trio’s songs possess the quirky sincerity of a youth recital while burrowing into decidedly mesmerizing, urban pastoral, and ghostly terrain. Leur son non conventionnel se nourrit des paysages américains malades, des lieux de dépravation de bords de ville que fréquentent les adolescents, d’endroits surdimensionnés voire surexposés.
